Privacy Policy

A note from us before the legal part
JW Printables has been a small JW-run platform serving brothers and sisters for over 10 years. We take how your information is handled seriously, the same way we would want ours handled. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. The sections that follow use standard legal language so things are clear and complete. If anything is confusing, write to us at hello@jwprintables.com and we will explain it plainly.
Made by JWs for JWs. Your trust is part of why this works.
1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how JW Printables ("JW Printables," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information when you visit jwprintables.com or any subdomain, register for an account, become a Supporter, apply for the Pioneer access program, submit content as a Creator or Writer, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Services").
JW Printables is operated from the United States. By using the Services, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, which may have data protection laws different from those in your country.

- We do not collect biometric identifiers or precise geolocation data.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
3.1 Operating the Services
- Creating, maintaining, and authenticating your account.
- Delivering downloads, providing access to membership content, and tracking which items you have downloaded so you can re-download them later.
- Processing Supporter membership payments and renewals through our payment processor.
- Administering the points, streaks, reviews, hearts, follows, 90-day perk, and other features that depend on your activity on the Services.
- Processing Creator and Writer earnings, calculating monthly pool eligibility, and issuing PayPal payouts.
- Reviewing Pioneer access program applications and verifying eligibility.
- Generating tax forms (such as IRS Form 1099) when payout earnings to a single recipient exceed the applicable reporting threshold.
3.2 Communicating with you
- Sending transactional emails you cannot opt out of, including account confirmations, password resets, payment receipts, renewal notices, Creator and Writer payout notices, and other emails essential to operating your account.
- Sending the newsletter and content notifications you have agreed to receive. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email. See Section 6 for the consequences of unsubscribing while holding a free membership.
- Responding to your messages and support requests.
3.3 Improving and securing the Services
- Analyzing usage patterns to improve the Services, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- Detecting, preventing, and addressing fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Use.
- Verifying that reviews are tied to actual downloads (a download must be recorded before a review can be submitted).
- Auto-generating image alt text on uploaded media to improve accessibility. See Section 5.5.
3.4 Legal and compliance
- Complying with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, and lawful requests from public authorities.
- Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims.
- Enforcing our Terms of Use and other agreements.
3.5 With your consent
- Displaying your first name and last initial on a public Supporter wall, if you opt in to that display in your dashboard settings.
- Any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information, with your consent.
4. Legal bases for users outside the United States
If your processing is governed by a framework such as the EU or UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: to provide accounts, memberships, downloads, payouts, and other features you request.
- Legitimate interests: to secure the Services, prevent abuse, analyze usage, communicate with you about your account, and operate our business, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: for optional features such as the public Supporter wall display, marketing emails beyond what is required to operate your account, and any other processing for which we ask for your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: to comply with tax, accounting, and other legal requirements.
6. Email and communications
By registering for an account on JW Printables, you agree to receive email at the address you provide. Some emails are required to operate your account and cannot be opted out of while your account is active. Others are optional and can be unsubscribed from at any time.
6.1 Transactional and account emails (required)
- Account confirmation, password reset, and security notices.
- Payment receipts, renewal notices, cancellation confirmations, and refund notices.
- Creator and Writer payout notices and earnings statements.
- Notices about changes to these terms, the Privacy Policy, or material changes to the Services.
6.2 Newsletter and optional emails
You can register a free account without subscribing to our newsletter if you just want to browse the site. To download free printables, free members must be subscribed to the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email. If you are a free member and you unsubscribe, your free download access will be suspended (you will still be able to log in, browse the site, and purchase items individually). Your account is not deleted. You can resubscribe at any time to restore free download access.
Supporters can unsubscribe from the newsletter without affecting their membership or download access. Supporter access is governed by your active membership, not by newsletter subscription.
6.3 Notification emails (toggleable)
Notification emails for things like new content from creators you follow, streak nudges, points milestones, 24-hour pass expiry, and renewal reminders can each be turned on or off from your dashboard at any time.
8. Advertising
We display advertising to guests and free members. Advertising is not shown to Supporters, Creators, or Writers. Our advertising provider uses cookies and other technologies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our Services and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising from major ad networks by visiting aboutads.info/choices or, for the largest ad provider, adssettings.google.com.
We do not provide your email address, name, or account identifiers to our advertising provider. The advertising provider receives the categories of data described in its own privacy policy, which is linked from the ads displayed on our Services.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information. Regardless of your location, all users of JW Printables have the following choices:
- Access: log in to your dashboard at any time to view your profile, downloads, hearts, follows, points balance, rewards activity, and (if applicable) Creator or Writer submissions and earnings.
- Update: edit your profile, display name, password, notification settings, and Supporter wall opt-in from your account settings.
- Delete: request deletion of your account and associated personal information by writing to hello@jwprintables.com. Some information may be retained as described in Section 10.
- Unsubscribe: use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or notification email, or toggle individual notification emails off in your dashboard.
- Export: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you by writing to hello@jwprintables.com.
9.1 If you live in California
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of certain personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
- Right to know: you may request that we disclose the categories of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business or commercial purpose, the categories of third parties with whom we share it, and the specific pieces of personal information we hold.
- Right to delete: you may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to correct: you may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We do display advertising to guests and free members as described in Section 8.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would require an opt-out under the CCPA/CPRA.
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
To exercise any of these rights, write to hello@jwprintables.com. We will verify your request by matching the information you provide to information in your account. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to verification.
9.2 If you live in another US state with a comprehensive privacy law
Residents of states such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with applicable comprehensive privacy laws may have rights similar to those described above, including the rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising. To exercise these rights, write to hello@jwprintables.com. If we deny your request, you may have the right to appeal by replying to our response.
9.3 If you live in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar laws
Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and certain other jurisdictions may have additional rights under applicable law, including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, write to hello@jwprintables.com.

| Backups | Information may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days after deletion from production systems, after which the backup is overwritten. |
11. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not register an account or provide personal information to us. If you are between 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you should use the Services only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.
Some of our content, such as homeschool printables and family worship materials, is designed for parents and guardians to use with their children. That content is intended for the adult to download and print, not for children to use the Services directly.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. Parents and guardians who believe their child has provided us personal information may contact hello@jwprintables.com.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encrypted transmission (HTTPS) across the Services, salted password hashing, restricted administrative access, and the use of established third-party providers for payment processing and email delivery.
No method of transmission or storage is 100 percent secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
13. International users
The Services are operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your personal information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States. By using the Services, you consent to that transfer and processing.
14. Third-party links and services
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, services, or social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit through a link on our Services.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and by posting a notice on the Services before the change takes effect. The effective date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of a revised policy means you accept the revised policy.
