Caleb & Sophia are two wonderful characters that are really loved by our young ones.
Our family remembers when the first Caleb videos were introduced! It was so exciting and unexpected. It was such a delight to finally have something that our children could watch that would teach them about Jehovah.
Caleb and Sophia are wonderful examples to our children on how to be faith to Jehovah and how to show that they love him in everyday of their lives.
As expected, our children love these too! It always so fun to see them at Bethel with the two stand up figures of Caleb and Sophia, posing together with the characters.
And as with most animated productions our kids want to imitate these two faithful examples in every way. From the butterfly on Sophia’s pencil to the hat Caleb wore in one of the animated shorts.
Its funny to see how they catch those things. I’ve watched the Caleb and Sophia videos several times but its our little ones that notice the hat, the pen and other little things in their world. Today we’re helping parents bring one piece of that world to their kids for free in the shape of Caleb’s adorable Frog hat!
This is a wearable hat. It’s not a mini hat or a small version of the hat. Your child can wear this which is what makes it so cool! It will fit anyone age 8 and under and the Circumference/Hat Size is 21-22 inches (54-56 cm.) Of course this may vary depending on how you put it together but we’ve constructed 4 of these at this point and the maximum size we got was around 24 inches assembling it very loosely.
It takes a bit of hand work to assemble, but it’s definitely something fun to surprise your child with. Maybe you’ll want to do what we did! We had our little one watch the exact episode this hat appeared in (“You Can Be Patient”) and then surprised him with the hat. He loved it! We hope your children will too!
How To Assemble This
You’ll start with 4 pieces of paper printed out. On these papers are 2 eyes, 2 halves of a hat and 2 ear flaps.
This is every piece you’ll have after cutting everything out!
Begin by scoring as indicated in the photos above and below. Scoring helps to make folding each piece more accurately so that the hat doesn’t turn out lopsided or strange.
You’ll want to score along all the dotted lines.
After scoring and folding, here is what the eyes will look like before you start gluing them together.
This is what everything will look like once you’re done with all the folds.
To assemble the hat, you’ll want to start gluing the flaps to the inside of that hat as shown above.
As you glue more in the hat will start to take on a curved shape.
You’ll end up with 2 halves of the hat, which will need to be glued together!
These are the two ends of the hat that should be glue together. The two “nostrils” of the frog (the double green lines) should be together like in the picture above. And the flaps of one half of the hat will be glue to the surface of the second half of the hat that has no flaps. Like below:
This part can be a little tough so to make it easier I always glue the end flaps on first and the very middle flaps. Then I glue all the flaps in between. This works well for me because I don’t have to struggle with trying to keep the hat straight the whole time. Gluing the end pieces together first holds the hat’s shape and lets you work better on the rest of the process.
The eyes are pretty easy! you just glue them as picture above, all the way around each eye.
The ear flaps don’t require and folding at all. The white strip is simply where you’ll glue them onto the inside of the hat.
The eyes glue on like this. Just eyeball them to make sure they’re evenly positioned.
The flaps glue in like this, with the green color facing out.
All done! Let it dry a little bit longer and it will be ready to wear by a little one.

This is so cute!! Even after “liking” it, I don’t see a link to download it on this page.
Never mind. I had to click the “like” button twice. 🙂
