Affiliate Disclaimer
Last updated: May 22, 2026
The short version
Some of the links on JW Printables are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you click and buy something. We also display advertisements on parts of the site. We only recommend things we believe are genuinely useful and relevant to our community. The price you pay is never higher because of an affiliate link, and we never let commissions change what we honestly recommend.
We are transparent about this because our community deserves to know how the site stays running.
1. What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a special web link that lets a company know you came from our site. If you click an affiliate link and then make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from that company. It does not change the price you pay. It just means a tiny portion of what you would have spent anyway goes back to us to help keep JW Printables running.
This is a common way that small content sites like ours stay funded without putting all the cost onto the people using the site. It is also why we are required by law (specifically by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission) to tell you when a link is an affiliate link.
2. Amazon affiliate links
JW Printables is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
In plain English: when we link to a product on Amazon (a book, a craft supply, a planner, a printer, something useful for ministry or family worship), that link is usually an affiliate link. If you click it and end up buying that product or any other product on Amazon during that shopping session, we may earn a small commission from Amazon at no extra cost to you.
As required by Amazon, we want to be clear:
As an Amazon Associate, JW Printables earns from qualifying purchases.
3. Other referral links
From time to time we may include referral links to other companies or services we genuinely use and believe would help our community. These work the same way as Amazon affiliate links: if you click and sign up or purchase, we may earn a small commission or credit at no extra cost to you.
We will always tell you when a link is a referral or affiliate link. If a link is just a regular informational link (for example, linking to jw.org or to a news article), it is not an affiliate link and we do not earn anything from it.
4. Advertisements
JW Printables displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. These ads are shown to guests and free members. Supporters, Creators, and Writers do not see ads.
Here is the important part, because this comes up a lot:
We do not choose which specific ads appear on our site. Google's automated systems decide what to show each visitor, based on that visitor's browsing history and signals Google collects. This means two people visiting the same page on JW Printables may see completely different ads.
We sometimes get questions or concerns about a specific ad someone saw on our site. We understand the concern, and we want to be honest: we genuinely do not know what ad you saw, because we did not place it there. Google chose it for your browser based on its own data.
What we can do, and have done:
- Set category-level filters in our ad settings to block ads we consider inappropriate for our community.
- Report individual ads that slip through the filters. If you saw an ad on our site that felt inappropriate, please tell us what it was and we will block that advertiser or category.
- Make ads disappear entirely for anyone who becomes a Supporter, Creator, or Writer.
If you want to control the ads you see on the web generally, not just on our site, you can adjust your personal ad settings at adssettings.google.com, or opt out of personalized advertising from major ad networks at aboutads.info/choices.
5. How we choose what to recommend
We only recommend products and services we believe are genuinely useful, relevant to our audience, and aligned with the spirit of our community. We will not:
- Recommend something just because it pays a higher commission.
- Promote products or content that would not be appropriate for a JW audience.
- Pretend to love something we have not actually used or do not actually believe in.
- Hide that a link is an affiliate link to trick you into clicking it.
If we recommend a planner, a printer, a craft supply, or a tool, it is because we (or other members of the community we trust) have used it and would recommend it whether or not there was a commission involved.
If a recommendation ever turns out to be wrong, or a product changes for the worse, write to us. We will look at it again and update or remove the recommendation if needed.
6. What this means for you
The most important things to know:
- You never pay more. The price you pay through an affiliate link is exactly the same as if you had gone to that company directly.
- You are not obligated to use our links. If you would rather buy the same product without going through our affiliate link, you absolutely can. We will not know either way.
- Commissions help keep the site running. Affiliate income, ad income, and Supporter memberships together cover the cost of hosting, building, and paying the JW Creators and Writers who contribute to the platform.
- Ads pay for the platform staying free. Free members and guests can browse without paying, partly because ads help offset the cost.
If you ever want an ad-free experience and want to directly support the people creating content here, becoming a Supporter is the cleanest way to do both at once.
7. Contact
If you have questions about our affiliate links, want to report an ad that should not have been shown, or want to flag a product recommendation that is no longer accurate, write to:
For ad-related reports, it helps if you can tell us roughly what the ad was about, what page you were on, and approximately when you saw it. We may not be able to identify the exact ad, but we can usually filter the category or advertiser going forward.
