How we give back

We get asked about this a lot, and we want to be open about it.

So here is how things work behind the scenes at JW Printables. Every Supporter dollar that comes through this site reinvests right back into our community.

Some of it pays the JW Creators and Writers who make everything you love. Some of it helps fund JW education for families who need it. A portion goes back to jw.org. The rest keeps this whole place running so it can stay free for anyone to browse.

We are not a corporation, and there are no shareholders here. We are just a group of brothers and sisters who love this community and want to keep giving back to it in every way we can.

Supporting Pioneers

100 complimentary Supporter memberships every 6 months

Full-time pioneers give so much of themselves to the ministry, and we want to give a little something back.

We offer complimentary memberships to verified regular and special pioneers completely free, no strings attached. We review every application personally because pioneers deserve to be supported, not just thanked.

Creators

JW Creators get paid

Some of our brothers and sisters are gifted designers, and we love being able to pay them for their work. Every time a Supporter downloads one of their printables, the Creator earns.

Writers

JW Writers get paid

The articles in Good Things are written by brothers and sisters who have something good to share, and they earn for their work too.

JW Families

Treeway Financial Aid

We help fund subsidized memberships for low-income JW families so they can access homeschool education through Treeway Academy.

Giving Back

A donation goes to jw.org

We donate a portion of proceeds to jw.org as one small way of supporting the organization that has given us so much.

Community Access

Free printables stay free

Guests and Friends of JWP can continue browsing the library, reading articles, and downloading free printables because Supporters choose to back the platform.

Education

Treeway Instructors get paid

A portion of what comes through JW Printables helps support JW educators teaching courses through Treeway Academy.

Keeping the site running

A website like this has a lot more happening behind the scenes than most people realize. Here are a few little glimpses into what goes into keeping everything online, searchable, downloadable, secure, and running every day.
Thousands of downloadable files

Every printable on the site has to be uploaded, organized, stored, backed up, and delivered quickly when someone downloads it.

With thousands of downloadable files, preview images, and growing collections, storage and delivery costs become surprisingly large over time.

Domain names and hosting

JW Printables runs on its own dedicated web hosting, and we maintain several domain names tied to the platform.

Hosting and domain registration are recurring costs that quietly renew every month and every year to keep the site online and accessible.

The site is heavily custom-built

JW Printables is not running on Etsy or a simple storefront template. Much of the platform is custom-built specifically for this community.

Collections, supporter access, creator payouts, search systems, rewards, contributor tools, games, and other features all require ongoing developer work and maintenance.

Security, backups, and protection

Websites are constantly dealing with spam, bots, fake signups, scraping, broken updates, and security threats behind the scenes.

Keeping the platform stable, backed up, secure, and protected is an ongoing responsibility and expense.

Software and service costs

Running the platform also means paying for software licenses, accessibility tools, payment processing, cloud services, email delivery, spam filtering, backups, and creator tools.

Many of these are monthly or yearly subscriptions that quietly keep everything functioning behind the scenes.

Newsletters and email delivery

Sending newsletters to thousands of subscribers every week requires professional email delivery services to make sure emails arrive properly and avoid spam folders.

As the community grows, those costs grow too.

Real people help run the platform

Beyond servers and software, there are also real people helping maintain the site, solve problems, upload content, fix bugs, answer questions, review submissions, and support contributors.

A huge amount of work goes into keeping everything running smoothly every day.

Thank you for being a Supporter. It means more than you know.
