Jesus said we are no part of the world. But what does that actually involve in day to day life? Is it just holidays? Styles of dress? Or does it go deeper than that, into the trends we follow, the opinions we hold, how we regard ourselves, others, and the world around us?
For some of us it’s all of the above. And it’s worth sitting with that honestly. Where do you draw the line, personally?
Because if we love these things now, if we embrace them now, will it be difficult to let go of the hold they have on us later? In the new world none of it will exist. That’s worth thinking about.
There are no hard rules here. This is firmly Bible principles territory. The decisions we make will reveal how well we actually know Jehovah, how close our friendship with Him really is. Even in the small things, what we embrace today matters.
Being no part of the world sometimes simply means rejecting what is popular. Not because popular is always wrong, but because we need to stand apart. And when we stand apart from the world, we’re standing with Jesus and Jehovah.
That’s the BEST place to firmly plant both feet.
